Awarded to Bio Collectors for it’s food waste derived RNG fleet conversion project. With the glittering awards ceremony taking place on 6th December at Wembley Stadium, the SME National Business Awards support and raise the profile of industrious, hardworking and enterprising SME’s in the United Kingdom. Leading Innovators in Food Waste Recycling UK

Awarded thanks to Bio Collectors work converting to sustainable, food waste derived RNG to power it’s collection fleet. The RNG is produced onsite at our AD facility in Mitcham from the food waste collected, which is in turn processed into more RNG to enable yet more food waste to be recycled. A perfect example of a circular economy in action.

ADBA Industry Awards 2017

Making the most of Digestate

Along with producing electricity and sustainable biogas from food waste, one of the primary products of AD recycling is Digestate. This powerful liquid acts as a highly potent natural fertiliser for agriculture and replaces the need for chemical alternatives. Bio Collectors, in partnership with Trade Effluent Services (TES), won this award for distributing Digestate to local farmers in a sustainable and effective manner.

Best British Renewable Energy Company

Awarded for Bio Collectors tireless work to recycle London’s food waste and keep it in London. All too often recyclable waste has to be transported long distances to suitable facilities, often on Diesel powered vehicles, impacting it’s relative environmental benefit. By operating and processing all the waste collected within London, Bio Collectors are able to minimise the offset and help ensure this valuable resource is put to the best use for the capital’s homes and businesses and in the most effective manner possible.

Anaerobic Digestion is recognised by DEFRA as being the most effective and efficent method of food waste recycling and produces a number of beneficial resources, including potent natural fertilisers and Biogas that can be used in any natual gas appliance, that are captured and provided to homes and businesses across Britain. The Green Apple award recognised Bio Collectors industry leading practices in this area.
